This Week’s Favourites–9 December 2009

  (by )

This week’s favourites  include web sites to help you get feedback on your designs, create colour palletes, and find unique free and premium comic fonts!

concept feedback

Concept Feedback is a great website for designers, web developers, and marketers who are in need of constructive criticism from other reputable professionals.  To use Concept Feedback, simply create a free account, upload your work (logo, website design, advertisement, etc.), and other members will provide you with feedback you can use to improve your project.  The best part is that each reviewer has a reputation score–based on a lot of factors, including the number people who agree with their reviews and the feedback they’ve received from other members on the quality of their work–so you know how much weight to give to someone’s opinion!

pictaculous

If you’re working on a project based upon a particular image, then you should check our Pictaculous, a free and easy to use colour palette generator.  Simply upload the image you want to use, click ‘Get My Palette’, and Pictaculous will analyze the image and provide you with multiple complementary colour schemes.  Just click on the colour palette you like best, and Pictaculous will provide you with the hex values and links to download the colour scheme using a variety of formats!

blambot

If you’re a font lover or a comic book enthusiast, then you need to check out Blambot, a site specialising in comic fonts and lettering.  Blambot offers tons of free, premium, and limited edition comic fonts and symbols that you can use to add some interest to your web site’s design.  In addition to a great selection of fonts, Blambot’s site also includes helpful articles on how to create your own comics and a forum where you can get feedback on your own designs and pick up tips from other creators.
