.CO Domains Available for £19.99!

  (by )

You can now order your very own .CO domain for £19.99 + VAT.

Before you bother, we already looked — unfortunately, all cool words ending with .co (i.e., lo.co, cis.co, co.co, dis.co and tobac.co, other words ending with co) have already been taken.  Sorry!

According to the people who run .CO, “It is associated with the words “COmpany”, “COrporation” and “COmmerce” –- the new .CO domain is easy to recognise and flexible to use.”

From our point of view, the new .CO TLD is useful if the .com version of your domain has already been taken; however, for the short term, we feel some people will get mixed up with .CO, .CO.UK and .COM.  Also, some UK SEO experts are a bit uncertain about how a .CO domain could impact websites that need to be search engine optimised for the UK, as .CO is an international TLD.

    This really fustrates me!

We do not need any more TLD’s like .co and .xxx, its just a money making scam by the people who run TLD’s, to make us have to buy more domain names (at a massive premium), and redirect to our actual site, or have someone stealing our domain name on another TLD.

    Just my 2p.

In fairness .co is the TLD for Columbia, they’re just trying to give it a sort of international branding as, it’s fair to say, most of the half decent .coms are taken.
