With so many themes available it’s getting hard to find the great ones amongst the junk, here are some of my favourites for the moment. Some are free, some are premium – all are great!
1. Meta-morphosis (Free from WooThemes)
Meta-morphosis is a very elegant WP theme with a nice dark bottom section and fantastic comments section–and it’s free!
2. Urban Elements ($75 from Press75.com)
Urban Elements is a very nice grunge theme. A lot of work has gone into both the frontend and backend which gives you many options that other themes don’t provide.
The Options page on the backend includes the ability to configure the Site Header, and provides you with In line Advertisement Management, Sidebar Advertisement Management, Social Link Configuration, Google Analytics Configuration and finally Post Thumbnail options.
3. ePhoto ($19.95 from Elegantthemes.com)
ePhoto was created for those looking to turn their blog into a photo gallery. While the theme was created with photographers in mind, it can be used to display any type of digital imagery.
The price includes access to all ElegantThemes.com templates, not just ePhoto, which makes this a superb value.
4. BusinessIdea ($30 from ThemeForest)
BusinessIdea has a fixed layout built with a 960 grid System. It is ideal for all types of business sites, Company Portfolios, Freelancer Portfolios or bloggers who want to have web 2.0 Style. This premium template will target the best solutions for better sales for your business. There are 5 colour settings and you are able to change the colour of the theme with a click of your mouse.
5. Compositio (Free from DesignDisease.com)
Compositio is a two column theme and has a unique light blue design. Random square shapes are the defining graphics of this theme. They are used throughout the background. It is also widget ready, so you can customize it anyway you like — oh, and did I mention that it’s free?
