This week’s favourites include resources to help you run your online business, create screencasts, make favicons, convert files, and build HTML forms!

practical ecommerce

ScreenToaster is a free online screen recorder that works right in your browser, meaning you don’t have to download any software!  You can use ScreenToaster to create tutorials, demonstrations, and screencasts (you can even add subtitles or audio), and then email the video or embed it in your website or blog.  ScreenToaster is compatible with Linux, Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Windows Vista, and it works best in Safari, Firefox 2 +, Internet Explorer 7 +, Chrome, and Opera 9.

favicon

FavIcon Generator is a free tool for making favicons (favorites icons), the small image displayed in your browser’s address bar and bookmarks for a particular website.  The FavIcon Generator is super easy to use, and they even provide instructions on how to add your new favicon to your site.  It supports gif, jpg, png, and bmp images, butyour image cannot be larger than 150 kB.

zamzar

With Zamzar, you can convert files for free without having to download any software!  Zamzar supports tons of different formats for video, document, image, audio, CAD, and compressed files.  Zamzar’s free service will allow you to upload a maximum of 100MB of data split among up to 5 different files and convert 5 files in one session, but a paid account will give you an upload limit of 1GB and allow you to convert up to 20 files at one time.

form

If you want an easy and inexpensive way of creating forms for your website, then you should check out Appnitro pForm, a free HTML form builder.  pForm allows you to create custom forms in a matter of minutes–just choose a colour scheme, add fields, edit the labels and choices, preview your form, and then download the HTML to paste into your site.
