Firefox is an awesome web browser with tons of add-ons designed to make your life easier and save you time! I looked for the best add-ons for people who manage internet shops, and I’ve found 10 Firefox Add-ons that are ideal for anyone running an online business. These add-ons will help you manage your bills, convert currency, create macros, track shipments, SEOize your site, and much more!
Billeo Password Management, Shopping, and Bill Pay Toolbar
Running an online business means you have a lot of bills to pay, but the Billeo Password Management, Shopping, and Bill Pay Toolbar Add-on for Firefox can make your life a little easier. This add-on will automatically save online receipts or confirmation pages, remind you about your upcoming bills, and save your passwords and details for any bills you handle online, allowing you to pay your invoices faster! Billeo uses state-of-the-art encryption technology to ensure the safety of your account information, passwords, etc., so you don’t have to worry about your security being compromised.
Magento Search
Do you use the ecommerce software application Magento for your online shop? Then you need Magento Search, a search toolbar for Magento’s blog, features, knowledgebase, forums, wiki, and more. If you use Magento’s resources often, then this Firefox Add-on can save you a lot of time!
Forex Currency Converter
Doing business online means you can have vendors and customers from all over the world, so you have to be able to calculate exchange rates quickly and easily. The Forex Currency Converter Add-on for Firefox will automatically identify any currency data on a web page and allow you to click on a price and convert that amount to over 180 foreign exchange rates. If you’re comparing different vendors in multiple countries, then this add-on can help guarantee you pay the lowest price possible.
LinkedIn Companion
Love it or hate it, but networking is an important part of running an online business, and LinkedIn is a great website for professionals to make new business contacts. LinkedIn Companion, an add-on for Firefox, lets you access your LinkedIn network whilst you browse and read your email, so you can see the LinkedIn profiles of anyone who has sent you an email. This add-on also allows you to share online articles with members of your LinkedIn network, bookmark profiles and searches, and search your network from any website.
WiseStamp
This add-on for Firefox enables you to customize your email signature for any webmail service such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. This means you can create a business signature which includes your professional contact information, your company’s logo, and your site’s RSS feed. You can also include links to all of your profiles for all of the major social networking sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Digg, Twitter, etc.), helping you and your business gain more exposure.
SmarterFox
Tired of wasting your valuable time on necessary tasks like waiting for web pages to load? Then check out SmarterFox, a Firefox Add-on designed to increase your productivity and save you time. When you reach the end of a web page, this add-on will automatically load the next page; SmarterFox will also download all of the images, media, and links on a web page in parallel, thus maximizing your bandwidth usage. You can also search keywords simply by selecting or highlighting text and clicking on a popup bubble, or you can quickly visit your bookmarks using keyboard shorcuts.
iMacros
Sick of doing tedious and repetitive tasks online like filling out forms and uploading files? Then download iMacros, an add-on for Firefox which allows you to automate just about any activity you do on a regular basis. Just use this add-on to record a task (like filling out an online form), and the next time you have to do it again, just click a button to run the macro. Definitely a great add-on for professionals and business owners who want to make the most of their time!
TrackPackage
Do you send a lot of packages to customers or receive a ton of shipments from vendors? Then download the TrackPackage Add-on for Firefox. This add-on enables you to track a shipment’s progress simply by selecting a tracking number, right-clicking, and selecting ‘Track Package’. This add-on currently supports UPS, USPS, DHL, Canada Post, TNT, Purolator, Eagle, and FedEx.
FoxClocks
When running an online business, you’re likely to deal with customers and vendors from all around the world, so it’s good to know the current time in various countries. FoxClocks, an add-on for Firefox, lets you keep track of various time zones by putting small clocks in your toolbar. You can even make a clock change colour during particular hours (i.e., the clock will turn blue during the business hours for your vendor in NYC).
Foxy SEO Tool
Search Engine Optimisation can be a tedious task, but Foxy SEO Tool, an add-on for Firefox, makes SEO easier. This toolbar allows you to easily access search engine functions such as Yahoo Site Explorer and Google Site. It also includes web traffic analysis sites like Alexa and Compete, and statistic aggregators such as Quarkbase and WebSiteOutlook. Plus, Foxy SEO Tool lets you check your website’s listing in online directories such as Yahoo! Directory and DMOZ, and Web 2.0 sites like Wikipedia and Digg.
