Tutorial on How to Install osCommerce!

If you’re thinking of running your own online store or internet shop, then you should check out osCommerce! osCommerce is the leading open source shopping cart software application on the market — it comes equipped with loads of great features, it’s easy to use, and osCommerce is so simple to install!

This tutorial provides you with screenshots and easy to follow instructions for every step of the installation process.  Just follow along, and you’ll have osCommerce installed in minutes!

Login to your cpanel and type “installatron” in the find box.  The Installatron icon will appear to the right of the box.

Click on the Installatron icon.  Then click on the tab labeled “Applications Browser”.

Click on “osCommerce” under “e-Commerce and Business”

Click “install this application”

Click “next”

Configure your path and click “next”.  If you want osCommerce to be installed in the root of your domain and not in a sub folder, leave the box labeled “Path” blank.

You will have to the option to choose the version of osCommerce you would like to install.  It automatically defaults to the latest version (which we recommend); click “next” to continue.

If you agree to the license agreement, click “I Accept”.

Choose between Installatron automatically managing your databases for you or managing them yourself.  Click “next” after you make your selection.

Set your username and password for osCommerce and click “next”

Installatron is now ready to install osCommerce.  Just click “submit” to install.

You should see this screen while osCommerce is installing.

Congratulations!  You’ve successfully installed osCommerce!  Be sure to take note of your username and password, and just click “complete” to finish.

To login to osCommerce, just click the URL next to administration.

Enter your username and password, click login, and you’re ready to start building your online store with osCommerce!
