We’re Taking Our Servers to LiteSpeed!

On Monday, July 26th, 2010, we will install LiteSpeed Web Server, a high scalability and high performance web server, on all of our servers. LiteSpeed Web Server is six times faster than Apache, which means our servers should be faster than ever! We will install LiteSpeed Web Server on all of our servers throughout the day on July 26th, 2010, and this should not result in any downtime. We will keep you updated on our server status blog as we’re installing LiteSpeed on each server.

LiteSpeed is a direct replacement for Apache and is 100% compatible so everything should work fine. If you do experience any problems with your site after the upgrade on Monday please let us know.

How did this go guys?

I am not noticing any changes in speed, but thats probably because i have never had to wait for a page on my site to load anyway!

  We were able to switch to LiteSpeed with only a few minor issues. Overall, it’s been really successful, and all of the servers are running considerably better. I’m glad to hear you never had any problems before, and I hope we can keep it that way!
