Ruby on Rails, and other new things in your cPanel!

We’ve been a bit busy today and you will find some nice new shiny features in your Evohosting cPanel!

We’ve added support for Ruby on Rails to cPanel which a few people have been asking for recently, so to those who have asked, its done! You will find the Ruby on Rails link in the ‘software/services’ section, you may also install your own Ruby Gems via cpanel also.
We’ve also added a selection of new features under the title of CPXtra, you will find this in the ‘Advanced’ section of cpanel this has many new features so we suggest you take a look for yourself, but the highlights are SEO reporting, backing up specific folders – great for addon domains! – and lots of security and monitoring options such as a personalised process viewer, you will see the overall state of the server ( like in service status from cPanel) and a list of all processes linked to your account with how much CPU / memory these are using!
There are a few more features still to come, it is likely that we will be rolling out FFMPEG support in the coming months on shared servers, but we are still checking that this will be stable and won’t add too much extra load – I’ll keep you updated! – If that does go ahead we have a script called VidiScript which will be on offer via Xtra’s install menu.
The latest beta version of cPanel includes new functions too, the biggest of the new features is the addition of client side DNS record editors, so anyone that has previously had to open a ticket and request DNS changes on a regular basis will soon (a few months I suspect) will be able to edit their records straight from cPanel without needing to contact support.
If we add any other features to Xtra, or cPanel, we’ll keep everyone updated, that’s all for now! If anyone has questions or problems regarding anything in this post, please open a ticket with Sales & Customer services via the client area and we will help you.

I can’t see any of the changes mentioned.
Hi James,
There was something on Rampage stopping the icon from appearing, I’ve fixed this now
Best,
Tim.
