One of my favourite trends in web design is the jQuery Masonry plugin. With this plugin, elements are arranged vertically and then horizontally (its creator describes it as the opposite of CSS floats), decreasing vertical gaps between elements of different heights.

Over the last few years, Drupal has significantly increased in popularity, and the free and premium templates for this content management system keep getting better and better. A couple of years ago, it was difficult to find a decent Drupal theme, but now there are loads of great templates to choose from.
